BOOK STUDY GROUP
This group usually meets the THIRD TUESDAY of each month at the church. We meet at noon, and bring a bag lunch, while we discuss our latest reading material. The book suggestions come from the people attending, with the discussion the following month, being led by the person who brought the book to the group’s attention. We generally have a lively discussion, including what we liked and disliked about the book, how the author portrayed certain characters, etc. Recently, our picks have included “Glory Over Everything” by Kathleen Grissom. Leading into the Fall, we have been reading “The Lowland” by Jhumpa Lahiri for discussion on September 13, and our next book is “Stalin’s Daughter” by Rosemary Sullivan for October 16.
All are welcome, and if more information is desired, please call the church office.
The Book Study Group has been the driving force behind our monthly “Hospitality Meal”, which takes place the FOURTH THURSDAY of each month. This meal is meant for those who need a good meal at the end of the month, as well as companionship. (See Hospitality Meal)
