Face book

Administrators: Looking for 3 persons willing to be administrators for our Strathroy United Church Facebook page and groups.  You would be in charge of removing comments or posts that would not be suitable to our site or beliefs. You are also able to invite and approve members.  Please contact Tina Zimmermann for more info.

We are excited that we have set up our Strathroy United Church’s Page and Group.  Our page is a public forum to inform our community of what we are all about and of community, national needs.  Our group is private for our members to receive updates on events, meetings, immediate needs.  Our group is for all members to share information.  Please do not post items of a personal nature, re: health, birth, death.  More updates to come.

– Bulletin Boards:

The Community Life Team is looking for someone to help them keep the bulletin boards of the church updated.  Letters, decorations and posters are available, as well as assistance from the team members if needed. We are asking for about two hours of your time each Season. (IE – Fall, Christmas, Spring and Summer).  If you are creative and would like to contribute to our church in this way, please speak to Tina Zimmermann or anyone on the Community Life Team.

Image result for libraryJean Nisbet has graciously written an article about our Church Library across from the Golden Jubilee Room.

“If you are a senior with spare time on your hands, or if you are getting a little bored, visit our church library. My younger days were always busy, and then later, with lots of volunteering, I had little time to read anything but the newspaper.

I had enjoyed a few Amish books and a friend mentioned that there was a good supply of them in our library.

There is also a good selection of Authors and books for all ages. I’m never bored. I always have a book to pick up and read, even if just a few chapters at a time. There is no fee!

enjoy!!”

Image result for Christmas decorationsChristmas decorations needed! If you are down-sizing, or  have extra gently-used Christmas decorations or household goods (i.e. serving dishes) that you would like to see go to a good home, please consider this suggestion. Our guests at our monthly Hospitality Meal sometimes don’t have the extras at Christmas to give their homes a festive touch. For our November meal, we are hoping to have a selection of festive / Christmas items that they can take home and enjoy. If you have such items, please bring them into the church before November 19th. They will be distributed at our November Hospitality Meal. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
