Good Morning Everyone

It is with deep sadness that we note the passing of Ruth Merrick. We will miss Ruth and her lovely bright smile.  Click to view Obituary for Ruth Merrick.

Welcome to Strathroy

United Church

We are happy to have you with us this morning. If you are new to our church please feel free to ask our Ushers any questions about our worship service and facility.

Lemonade following the Service.

Rev. Abiel would like the congregation to light a candle in their  homes every Wednesday evening at 7 pm for about 10 minutes until a new minister is selected. This shows our Search Team we support them and with the help of the Holy Spirit to guide them they will make the best selection of a minister for our church.

Summer Office Hours

The church office will be open:

Tuesday to Thursday 9-4  July & August

Prayer Circle Box

The Prayer circle group have supplied Prayer Request Cards that are completely confidential. At the back of the GJR you will find a locked wooden box with a slot for cards.

Hospital Bears

When he does hospital pastoral care visits, Rev. Abiel delivers small handmade teddy bears.  Evelyn Bryant has sewn many of these.  We invite those who knit, crochet or sew to join Bonnie

Joynt and Joan Gentleman in maintaining our bear population. If you can help with this mission, please contact the church office. (picture of the bears is at the back of the GJR)

We are having a bee to do the sewn ones on Wednesday, August 29th from 10am-3pm(bring a bag lunch). Options to help are: cutting, sewing, stuffing, some embroidery work.

You can be a part of the assembly line::>).

Family Prayers

This Sunday we ask you to pray for the ministry of the 43rd General Council in Oshawa.

Please keep Barb Bett, Mike Bett, Claude Peyault and Evelyn Bryant in your prayers.

We keep the family of the late Ruth Merrick in our prayers as they move forward without her in their lives.

Note: Pastoral Care is important.  Please contact the church office if you are going into hospital or if you or a family member are needing Pastoral Care. Your name will not be in the bulletin unless we have permission from you to do so. We wish to offer Pastoral Care support and at the same time respect your confidentiality.

Community Life Team

We have applied for a booth at our local Farmers Market. Our goal is to promote our church and various programs to our community. Flyers will be available for information and various activities for children. We need your help too. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to help promote our
