Welcome to Strathroy United Church
We are happy to have you with us this morning. If you are new to our church please feel free to ask our Ushers any questions about our worship service and facility.
Coffee and Refreshment Times– Coffee is provided at the back of the Sanctuary before service and please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the Golden Jubilee Room downstairs following the service.
Infant Nursery– We are happy to provide a Nursery with a sink, children’s table, chairs, play picnic tables, toys and an adult rocking chair. This room has audio from the church service provided. Parents, Grand Parents and visitors are asked to be responsible for themselves and their children.
Peace Candles – If you are a visitor with us this morning there are small votive candles available at the front of the sanctuary for you to take back to your home church.
LIGHT A CANDLE
TO SUPPORT OUR VACANCY SEARCH TEAM
Rev. Abiel would like the congregation to light a candle in their homes every Wednesday evening at 7 pm for about 10 minutes until a new minister is selected. This shows our Search Team we support them and with the help of the Holy Spirit to guide them they will make the best selection of a minister for our church.

Prayer Circle Box
The Prayer circle group have supplied Prayer Request Cards that are completely confidential. At the back of the GJR you will find a locked wooden box with a slot for cards.
This Sunday we ask you to pray for the ministry of Trinity United Church. Please keep Barb Bett, and Evelyn Bryant in your prayers.
Community Life Team
WALK IN BIBLE STUDY: Our Walk in Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, September 12th from 10-11 am. pamphlets are available at the usher stations with more details.
Lay Visitation Team Meeting: -to be held in the church parlour at 10 am on Thursday, September 20th 2018.
Parlour Group: On Mon. Sept. 10th at 10:30 a.m. The Parlour Group will meet at the Church to travel to Leisure Heights Trailer Park at Port Glasgow on Lake Erie for their meeting and Pot Luck lunch. Please bring your favourite pot luck dish. Plates, cutlery and beverages will be provided.
SOUP AND ROLL SUNDAY
M & S SOUP & ROLL SUNDAY is starting again. Please join us SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 for our next soup & roll lunch. Free will donation towards M & S goal. This will be happening every third Sunday of each month.

Bears for Pastoral Care
This is the fruit of the labour of 7 people taking a morning to put Teddy Bears together for Rev. Abiel touse for pastoral care.Thank you to Bonnie Joynt (Coordinator), Marie Campbell, Lyla Clark Smith, Caroline Khalema, Nancy Larocque, Janet Clark, and Ida Traxler. You did an awesome job sewing, and stuffing the bears. We alsothank Joan Gentleman for the knitted ones.

ROAST BEEF DINNER
This is a CONGREGATIONAL EVENT
and it needs YOUR HELP.
DATE: Wednesday, October 10, 2018
TIME: All day or 2 hours – whatever you can give us.
There will be 2 seatings this year – 4:30 and 5:45 pm. We will need people to set up, take tickets, peel potatoes, mash potatoes, cook squash, cook vegetables, make gravy, runners to replenish food, serve tea and coffee and water, clear away dishes and clean up. We also need elevator operators. Sign up sheets are posted in the Golden Jubilee Room. Most importantly we need YOU to buy tickets!! Look for the posters, call for tickets.
