STRATHROY UNITED CHURCH FUNDS
GENERAL FUND: This fund looks after all the expenses of running our church and includes all the budgets of our Teams to do their work in our congregation and community.
MISSION AND SERVICE FUND: This fund is used to fulfill our obligation to our National Church. Our objective for 2016 is $20,000.
SPECIAL PROJECTS FUND: This Fund supports Congregationally approved projects that may be property or educational in nature. Our last one was to put the tread and new flooring in our front entry way.
COMPASSIONATE FUND: This fund is used in our local outreach usually in the form of $25 Food Basic Cards. It can also be used by the Minister for other emergency needs.
CHURCH MISSION FUND: This fund for 2016 is designated to assist in the cost of our Hospitality Meals provided every 4th Thursday of the month.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: The Sunday School givings go toward the education and growth of our children. The first Sunday of the month the Sunday School givings go towards the Mission and Service fund as their way of contributing to our local and global outreach.
Receipts are distributed at year end for all of these funds.

Sunday Bulletin Donations!
Have you ever thought about different ways of recognizing and honoring the memory of a loved one besides flowers?
If so, the Congregational Life Team invites you to consider donating the Bulletins on a particular Sunday in loving memory of a loved one. The occasion may be an anniversary or any occasion that you find meaningful and memorable. There will be an inscription included in that week’s bulletins: “This week’s bulletin is in loving memory of …..”
The cost of a week’s bulletins is $25.00 and if you’d like to participate, please speak with our Office Administrator.
On behalf of the Community Life Team, I’m inviting to open your hearts once again and prayerfully consider contributing to our Compassionate Fund. This has been a difficult Winter for many of our community friends and as a result, they’ve had to rely much more on community resources including our own Grocery Card Program. To help place this in context, approximately 100 cards were distributed during 2015. From January – February this year, 73 cards have already been distributed, and as a result, our Compassionate Fund has been significantly depleted. Your Council at its April 5th meeting, made the decision to suspend the Card program until mid-Fall, while we work towards building the Fund up once more. Either Dianne or myself are happy to answer any questions you may have. In the mean time, we invite you to make a donation to the Fund either in an appropriately marked envelop or directly to the Office. Thank you for taking the time to prayerfully think of those in our community who aren’t as fortunate as we are.
Tim Bit Lenten Project
Thank you to all who participated in our Tim Box Lenten project.
We realized $1,410.65 for our Mission and Service Fund.
Strathroy United Church thanks you for your donation!
