Zoom Book Study: Caste – Jan 28 @ 7pm

An interactive Zoom discussion of Isabel Wilkerson’s book Caste: The Origins of our Discontents, hosted by Brad Morrison and Gail Barker. Caste is a powerful and beautifully written examination of the unspoken caste system shaping our culture’s race relations.

If you’re looking for an intelligent holiday read, ask your Santa to put this book in your Christmas stocking. You are welcome to join the Zoom discussion event even if you haven’t read all (or any) of the book’s 495 pages.

The 2 hour discussion will spark your thinking about anti-black racism, whether you’re new to the topic or you’re developing your personal racial justice plan. To register, email Brad Morrison for the Zoom link.

Books can be ordered locally through Bookmarks The Spot in Mount Brydges (519) 264-2665 OR through the CPT-Fairmont Resource Centre at 29 Tweedsmuir Avenue, London (519) 348-9261.

The event is free. To ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation, we have a limited number of free copies of the book available for people who cannot afford the cost of the book. Contact Brad Morrison to inquire.

The discussion is sponsored by Strathroy United Church and financial support from the Centre for Practical Theology (CPT).
