Strathroy United Church is asking its congregation members to donate towards the fundraising campaign launched by the United Church of Canada to “support the people of Haiti in recovering from a massive earthquake and drenching tropical storm.” Their website states that “this latest disaster is pushing the death toll close to 2,000, with more than 9,000 people injured and over 680,000 estimated in need of emergency humanitarian assistance. The crisis is straining resources already stretched by the pandemic, political instability, and previous natural disasters.”
To donate towards this campaign, you can do one of the following:
Donate by cheque made out to Strathroy United Church, making sure to write “Emergency Response – Haiti” in the memo line. This can be dropped off in the mailbox by the 92 Maria St entrance.
Donate by credit card using PayPal (you can find the “PayPal Donate Now” button at the bottom of this page) and select “Emergency Response – Haiti” from the list of drop down options.
Donate by e-transfer by logging into your online or mobile banking app, adding firstname.lastname@example.org as the recipient email address, entering the amount of your donation, and clicking send (we have auto-deposit so a security question is not necessary). Please ensure that you include your email address or phone number, as well as “Emergency Response – Haiti”, in the e-transfer message box.
We thank you in advance for your generosity to support the Haitian people as they recover from these natural disasters.
