Wedding & Funeral Info

Congratulations on your wedding engagement! Thank you for looking at Strathroy United Church for your wedding ceremony. If you are not currently connected to Strathroy United Church, you are invited to first attend Sunday worship services. Then, couples intending to become active participants in our congregation may talk with the office about future plans. Couples must be eligible for a marriage license in the Province of Ontario.

If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, or queer, and your current faith community refuses to perform weddings because of your gender or sexual identity, please discuss this with the Minister when the time comes. We are open to supporting your faith-based wedding service.

Funerals

Funeral, Memorial, or Celebration of Life services are extended to all members and adherents of Strathroy United Church and their families. Services for non-members must be approved by the minister and Council.

The service will be conducted by the staff of the church including the minister, office administrator, organist, custodian, and audio/video technician in coordination with the funeral director as required. Additional ministers or musicians must be approved by the officiating minister and organist.

If the family would like to have the visitation in the sanctuary then it is treated like a rental where approval is required, there is an hourly fee and requirements are discussed prior to the date.

The minister will assist in developing the order of service by arrangement and will coordinate with the funeral director, organist, and office administrator.

Custodian:	$25/hour weekdays $37.50/hr weekends $50/hr Stat Holidays
Luncheon Cost	$5 per person
Administrator	$50 flat fee
